17's Elite finish 7-1 at Triple Crown

How do you go 7-1 and still come in 9th? That's both the beauty and competition level at the Triple Crown.   The 17's were seeded last in their pool but by the end of Day 1, they had upset the apple cart beating some of the best teams in the Nation including Aspire, Rage, and AZ EVJ (and that's just on day one) moving them to the top seed.    After making it to the Championship Bracket, Magic defeated Tx Tornados 17 Mizuno but fell against SG Elite 17 Roshambo in a heated 3 set match.  Albert and Company went on to beat CJV 17, A5 Mizuno (last years winner), followed by a two set victory over Austin Jr's 17 Mizuno.  By the end of day one, the team was making event news.  Writer of the article notes,  on several occasions Saturday, SA Magic 17's could be found laughing on the court, with the coaching staff headed by Albert Trevino looking equally humored.  Let other teams be wound up tighter than a volleyball net cord, because the Magic have a lot to be happy about.  Awesome Job, Coach Albert, Adrian, Marguerite, & all of the 17's players and parents (and a couple of grand parents), who made the trip to Salt Lake City, Ut.   After this year's performance, we should get a few more invitations for more Magic teams at next year's event.  To read the complete article, click "here".
