Early Tryout Dates have been posted for the 2023/24 season. If you are new to club, please review the usav age definition info below to verify your daughter is eligible for one of the openings and check out our new to club tab for helpful information.

USAV Age Definition

  • 11U (age 11 & under as of July 1st 2025).  The 11u teams can consist of players, 8, 9, 10, and turning 11 on or before june 30th 2024)
  • 12U (age 12 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 13U (age 13 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 14U (age 14 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 15U (age 15 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 16U (age 16 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 17U (age 17 & under as of July 1st 2025)
  • 18U (age 18 & under as of July 1st 2025)

    • 9-11am for 13 & 14's
    • 11am-1pm for 15-18's
    • 1pm-3pm for 11u (age 9-11) and 12's
  • May 19th
    • 1pm-3pm for 13 & 14's
    • 3pm-5pm for for 11u (age 9-11) and 12's

  • To Date: 4 National  Championships (14's USA, Two 15's USA, and One 15's National Championship).  The "ONLY" other club in San Antonio to have more than Four 1st Place National Championships is Alamo.  They have 5 National Championships and we have 4 National Championships. 
  • To Date: Two 2nd Place/Silver Finishes at Jr. Nationals with our 18 Elite taking Silver/2nd Place in the Open Division (only the 2nd time a texas team has made it to the championship match in 18's open) in 2018.  The only other club to have made it to the Championship Match in 18's Open is TAV out of Dallas and they are ranked as one of the Top Clubs in the National.  
  • To Date: Three 3rd Place/Bronze Finishes at Jr. Nationals
  • In 2022: Four of our Athletes were selected to participate in the Under Armour All American Camps-Kitana Tuufuli, Madison Jones, Emma Wegleitner, and Hailey Garza. 
  • In 2022: We qualified a Team for Tour of Texas in every age group. 
  • In 2022: Our 12's Elite Team Won 1st Place at the Pacific Northwest National Qualifier in the American Division and 1st Place at Lone Star Classic National Qualifier in the USA Division.  A club first to earn two bids to Junior Nationals in the Same Year and a club first for a Magic team to Win 1st Place at TWO National Qualifiers.  
  • In 2022: 11 Elite missed the National Bid by 2 Points, 12 Elite Earned both an American Bid and a USA Bid, 13 Elite earned an American Bid, 15 Elite earned an American Bid, and 17 Elite earned a National Bid. 
  • In 2021: 3 of our teams pre qualified for the Tour of Texas (14 Elite, 15 Elite, and 16 Elite).
  • In 2021: Our 12 Elite, 13 Elite, and 14 Elite punched their ticket to Jr Nationals.
  • In 2021: 5 our our National Teams made the Tour of Texas and three pre qualified for next year. 
  • In 2020: Our 13 Elite earned a bid to Jr Nationals the first weekend before Covid shut down USAV Volleyball & the World. 
  • In 2019: 7 of our 11 National teams qualified for the Tour of Texas.
  • In 2019: 5 of our 13 National teams qualified for Jr. Nationals
  • 2019: Two of our Players were Named to the Under Armour All American Team (Kara McGhee Baylor Commit and Carolina Meuth Notre Dame Commit).
  • In 2018, 9 of our 11 National team went on to qualify for Jr Nationals.  
  • In 2018: 3 of those 9 teams that qualified for Jr Nationals went on to medal! 
  • In 2018: Our 18's Elite finished 2nd in the Nation in the Open Division.  Only other club in Texas to make the Championship Bracket in 18's Open is TAV (TAV Club is ranked 1st in the Nation). 
  • In 2018: 2 of our 4 Premier teams qualified for Jr Nationals (our 2nd 15's and 16's teams)
  • In 2018 3 teams from the same age group (17's) qualified for a Bid to Junior Nationals All in the same season.  A first for Magic Volleyball and we couldn't find another san antonio club that ever qualified 3 teams in the same age group! 

Selection for SA Magic team is on a first come, first accepted basis.  The initial down payment is due at the time the player is offered a position with the club.  Please be prepared to make a commitment to the team once selected (the tryout fee, deposit and/or club fees are non refundable).

What's Included

National Teams 

  • Two Practices a week starting late Nov or early Dec (additional practices may be added).
  • 8-10 Tournaments 
    • 14 & under 3 Qualifiers with two in state and one out of state (11's National will only participate in two in state qualifiers).
    • 15 & up 3 Qualifiers with two in state and one out of state (some teams may participate in an out of state  tournament for an additional fee of $500 per player). 
  • Uniform Package: 
    • Two Jerseys
    • Two pair of shorts
    • One pair of knee pads
    • Two pair of socks
    • Warm Up Top and Bottom
    • Back Pack or Duffle Bag
    • Shoes-parents will be required to purchase a pair of Nike Shoes (either a volleyball shoe or a basketball shoe) to match teams colors/uniforms. 
    • Practice Shirts-Players will need to purchase a minimum of two magic practice shirts. 
  • 25% off all Magic Volleyball Camps and Clinics from date of commitment thru  09/01/2023 and then 50% off from 09/01/2023 thru 05/01/2024 (with a 09/01/2023-05/01/2024 camp and/or clinic start date). 

Parents/Players are responsible for usav/lone star registration fee, Score Keeping Certification fee,  applicable spectator fees,  and any travel related cost

There will be an additional fee of $500 per player due May 15th for teams that qualify for Jr. Nationals and/or opt to attend AAU's.
